Forging Futures: Welding Shop Renovation at Mount Vernon High School
As students return to class this fall, Mount Vernon High School is welcoming them with more than just sharpened pencils and fresh notebooks—it's unveiling a fully renovated welding shop, thanks to the expert team at System Solutions of Washington.
This summer, our crew completed a full electrical renovation of an existing shop space on campus, transforming it into a modern, multi-station welding lab designed to support hands-on learning and career readiness. The project was completed just in time for the school year, ensuring students can dive into technical training from day one.
What We Delivered
The original space, while functional, lacked the safety, accessibility, and modern capabilities needed to support today's vocational programs. Our team stepped in to reimagine the shop from the ground up, delivering:
- Multiple welding stations equipped for real-world training
- Upgraded electrical panels with clearly labeled circuits for safety and ease of maintenance
- Robust conduit runs and electrical boxes to support high-demand equipment
- Overhead ventilation systems to ensure air quality and compliance
- Thoughtful layout design to maximize space, workflow, and accessibility
Every detail—from the placement of conduit to the labeling of breakers—was executed with precision. We collaborated closely with school administrators and local contractors to ensure the final result met both technical standards and educational goals.
Why It Matters
Vocational education is a cornerstone of community resilience. By creating spaces where students can learn skilled trades in a safe, modern environment, we're helping schools prepare young people for meaningful careers. This welding lab isn't just a renovation—it's a launchpad for future electricians, fabricators, engineers, and innovators.
At System Solutions, infrastructure should serve a purpose beyond the blueprint. It should inspire, empower, and endure. That's why we're proud to support Washington's schools and the OSPI with projects that fuel opportunity, creativity, and career readiness.
Looking Ahead
As educational needs evolve, we remain committed to building spaces that meet the moment—and anticipate the future. Whether it's a classroom, a lab, or a workshop, we bring the same level of care, craftsmanship, and community focus to every project.
Because at the end of the day, we don't just wire buildings—we help wire futures.
